Knowing that the manager is the critical influence for an individual's performance and retention, Performance Management Services offers one-on-one coaching to understand and assist a leader, manager, or employee when s/he gets stuck. Coaching can also focus operationally, assisting a manager with approaches and techniques for addressing an employee or team performance situations.

Typical scenarios in which we have successfully coached individuals include:

  • Employees moving into a new leadership role – e.g., promotion to the next level of leadership requiring a shift in approach/output level and interactions
  • Leaders needing skills to influence, negotiate with, or present ideas/recommendations to C-Suite or Board of Directors
  • Employees/managers adapting to new leadership
  • Managers with sticky employee relations issues – e.g., one-on-ones, long-term employees, organization wide situations (e.g., downsizing)
  • First-time supervisors/managers – e.g., developing an understanding of (and when to use) different management styles; becoming self aware; delegation
  • Managers with productivity issues/needed competencies – e.g., time management and/or organizational skills
  • Communication shortfalls – e.g., understanding different styles/needs of different employees/employee levels, need for more nuanced or influencing approaches
  • Career path and professional development strategy and assessment of/discussions of opportunities. 

Sometimes it is a team that needs reinvestment or skill development. Performance Management Services offers a series of 1.5+ hour "Lunchtime Presentations" to train managers on best practices for achieving peak performance from all employee levels and for teams. 

All training workshops are tailored for your organization's culture, goals, and the needs and skill level of your team. Training approaches and time frames will be appropriate to the audience - e.g., new supervisors versus experienced managers, team leaders, employees.
